I myself have added loads which are all my own copyright so cannot see why anyone would pull them if they help the town. Permalink Reply by Jude on March 21, 2009 at 11:21am: I agree, most of the older Shildon photos are on lots of websites and in books ALL claiming copyright. AND anyway copyright laws have a time limit. The Copyright, Designs and Patent Act 1988 states:

"For literary, dramatic, musical or artistic works (inc photographs)

If the author is unknown, copyright will last for 70 years from end of the calendar year in which the work was created"

A lot of the old photos are older than 70 years and so copyright does not apply.; ▶ Reply to This
