Shildon

all about Shildon

Can anyone help me here with the name of a sweet? Or even remember it? No-one here down south has any idea what I am on about.

I used to buy some little plastic cone shaped things full of chocolate which had a little tiny spoon attached to eat the choccy. The little spoon was sort of welded to the side and you had to twist them to detatch them. They were in the form of a glass which went pointy at the bottom. It was orrible to try and get the choccy out of the bottom with the miniscule spoon.

I used to buy them from asweet shop on Redworth Road opposite Magnet St and at the shop (VG?) at the top of Alma Road opposite the Masonic Lodge.

They were full of funny tasting choccy which had a strange friuty tang.

Anyone else remember them?

This choccy thing was about 3 inches tall and about as round as 10p at the top. It was in a solid plastic container.

Called Prirate's Gold by some manufacturers and Spanish Gold by others.
Long strands of toasted coconut. Used to come in a square shaped wrapper which looked just like a 'baccy' pouch.

Floral Pips. Tasted like old ladies perfume. Did ANYONE like these?

Cola Bottles and Fizzy Cola Bottles. Much hated by all of the gang. Weird taste. On average only one kid out of 20 would eat these. Were you the one?
